Brief Introduction

Students who have earned an MBA degree or are currently taking their MBA, qualify to apply to this work/study program which is a great opportunity for highly motivated, ambitious and dedicated people who understand the benefits of international work and life experience to further explore their potential. The ideal candidates for this program are those individuals who are committed to building their resumes and gaining work experience in Asia. The internships are hosted by multi-national, Chinese, or local based foreign companies.

Interns can undertake various duties during the internship period, depending on their own background, experience and Chinese language ability. Most of the internships are in the Business Development, Research, Human Resources or Marketing departments of various industries. These industries include IT, Finance, Real Estate, Hospitality, Sports Marketing, Telecommunications, Consultancy, Education & Training, and PR. With new client companies every year, we are expanding the breadth of industries and fields in which we can secure placement in. Recently additions of Engineering and Legal internships have allowed us to accept applicants from an even larger spectrum of educational backgrounds and interests.

With MBA internships available in a wide range of industries, participants are most typically assigned to the marketing, business development or human resources departments of the company. Participants with suitable financial, legal or IT qualifications or experience may be assigned accordingly. Interns can expect to carry out a variety of tasks including market research, competitor analysis, direct marketing, client liaison, client and product presentations, and website and brochure design. All MBA internships will involve some degree of language exchange. This may come in the form of teaching, proof-reading documents, or giving lectures on the cultural/business practices of your home country.

Most of the internships are compensated to some degree, which usually means that participants will receive a small stipend to cover transportation and lunch expenses. While China Internship Society strives to offer this to all interns, a stipend cannot be guaranteed in all cases. Participants are responsible for arriving and leaving at their host company on time. If a participant is sick, then he/she is responsible for informing the host company. If participants fail to attend the internship or are continuously late and are requested by the host company to leave, then China Internship Society cannot be responsible for finding the participant another internship.

China Internship Society does guarantee that all participants are placed in an internship related to one of the participant's chosen fields, as indicated on their application. However, due to circumstances of the placement process, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will know the complete details of their internship before they arrive. Some companies will request an interview before accepting to take on the applicant as in intern. These interviews may be by phone or in person when the applicant arrives. Also, late applicants may not find out internship details until arrival. Cases our unique, as each company and individual possess their own demands, time-frame, and customs.
